Lithuanian traditional food tasting in the pub “Leičiai, Vilnius

Lithuanian traditional food tasking, from cold snacks to hot dishes, including our favorite potato-meat dumplings (cepelinai). And that‘s not all…. Guests will be able to taste not only traditional Lithuanian dishes made according to authentic recipes, but also beer brewed in our brewery. All dishes will be served in a way that everyone could share, cepelinai will be cooked bite-sized.

Cold snacks:
Traditional Lithuanian snacks with beer: baked bread with garlic and cheese sauce, dried-smoked meat sets,
sets of various cheeses (traditional Lithuanian smoked cheese with garlic, baked curd cheese with cumin, dried curd cheeses, “Džiugas” cheese matured for 36 months),
salted roasted nuts,
fried onion rings,
tomatoes stuffed with Samogitian “Kastinys”.
Soup:
Cold borscht or boletus mushroom or chicken soup in a rye bread bowl (100 ml).
Hot dishes-snacks:
Mini potato-meat dumplings (cepelinai), Lithuanian potato sausage (vėdarai). These dishes will be prepared and served as a bite-sized snacks, with different sauces: traditional sour cream sauce and butter sour cream sauce. Stewed beans in spicy cream sauce
Main hot dish:
Roasted rabbit with boletus sauce.
Served in one large plate, one piece for each participant.
Dessert:
Dessert “Leičiai”: Milk ice cream with thick dark beer caramel sauce. Coffee / tea
Drinks: 5 different types of beer. (~ 100ml of each type. During the tasting, about half a liter of beer per person will be tasted). Non-alcoholics are offered natural home-made kvass instead of beer; table water.
