Educational program with tasting of mineral water “Birštonas mineral water springs”, Birštonas

Birštonas mineral water springs have been known for ages. The beginning of the establishment of Birštonas resort is also connected with mineral waters, when in 1846 the doctor of Stakliškės resort Benediktas Balinskis, interested in Birštonas springs, sent a patient here, who was not cured by Stakliškės healing springs. Fortunately, the patient recovered in Birštonas.

Birštonas spring water is still used for treatment and consumption. There are 13 operational mineral water wells in the resort area. The oldest mineral water bottling company in Lithuania also operates in Birštonas. Bottling of natural mineral water has been started since 1924.

During the educational program you:

• will get acquainted with the old mineral water springs of Birštonas;
• will learn about the current mineral water springs in Birštonas;
• will hear about the extraction and bottling of mineral water;
• will learn about the healing properties of mineral water;
• At the end of the education there will be a tasting of mineral water.

The program is suitable for adults and 1^st-12^th grade students.
